The Eurasian steppe is a vast area stretching from Mongolia in the east to southern Russia in the west. The traditional economoy depended on the products of sheep, goats and other animals and required moving frequently to find grass and water for the flocks. Among the instruments on this CD are the morin xuur: made of two horsehair strings and played with a bow, the limb: a flute originally made of bamboo and the daf: a hand-drum with a metal ring within the woorden frame.
